| Welcome to the homepage of the Kennel Turani Gladiator.
Once in the early 70-es, a
4-year-old little boy, urging his parents, got his first long-desired
puppy, a that time very popular wolf-dog. That was the beginning
of my life with a dog that was intensified in the farm of my grand- and
great-grandparents where I spent the holidays full of adventures and experiences.
This first dog of mine was called Basa. He was my true
fellow for 12 years and died of old age. Dogs in my family have not only
played the role of a watch-dog or labour-dog but also been looked upon
as members of the family. My second dog was a German shepherd male called
Rocky who was later associated by Desy, a bitch. Two litters were born
of them. At this time, I started training dogs together with a friend
of mine.
In 1988 the Zemplén Organization of MEOE (National
Association of Hungarian Dog-breeders) was established, with me as a founder.
The great encounter took place at a CACIB dog-show in Budapest
in the early 90-es where I caught sight of RENGÕHEGYI
ORMÁN PUSZTÁR, the middle-Asian male. This dog made
such an impression on me that is still determinant in relation to the
race. I was totally enraptured by the appearance, the assurance, the ability
beaming from that dog. I had been considering a change of type but then
it got decided!
I have been a member of the club KARAKAN since 1993.
Presently, I am also a member of the Board of Supervision. This corporation
is responsible for the race management within MEOE.
In 1996 I have purchased my first KÁJ, Igor. He is today a healthy
11-year-old active watch-dog, having participated in some shows as well,
but it has turned out soon: it was not a carreer for him!
I continued visiting dog-shows on my own.
I was keeping an eye on the main characters, the breeding-lines, the conceptions
of both inland and the neighbouring countries. This way I could form really
good international connections with the owners and the breeders of the
race that in 2004 helped to open the way of getting a 100% Russian-blood
dog from the Czech Republic. Then I founded the Kennel TURANI GLADIATOR
named after the Turani Plain in Middle-Asia covered with steppes, extending
over most part of Turkmeny as well as the thousands-year-old traditions
of trying strenth of the dogs living there.
Thanks to my friends in Usbegistan, I can get information
on the actual situations in the original living-space of the race, illustrated
with unique photos and videos!
In 2006 have arrived newly imported dogs from Poland into my kennel. I
am planning to get more import dogs to improve, stabilize and reinforce
the genetic stock of our country.
